The Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) made its first trip ever to the west coast for the Stanford tournament, coming away with a 10th place finish for a sophomore/freshman team and two winning records for the two teams who attended.

Here are the official accomplishments:
Adam Bomeisl & Quinn Maingi – 10th Team
Quinn Maingi – 2nd Novice Speaker

The team also did some volunteer work before the tournament at Coach Clayton’s former workplace, the Glide Foundation, a social services non-profit for the poor and homeless in San Francisco. The RUDU crew helped serve a free lunch to the homeless in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.

The west coast visit may become an annual tradition for Rutgers, who will be sending four teams to Toronto this coming weekend for the North American Championships.
