The Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) wrapped up its two Novice Retreats for summer 2012 on Labor Day at the School of Communication and Information (SC&I). While this group was smaller than the first Retreat, they demonstrated no less dedication in two intense days of training and learning about debate from current team leaders and coaches.

With the close of the Retreat, novices and varsity alike will now face the start of the APDA season with a tournament this weekend at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Tonight marks the first official full club meeting of the year, to be held at 9:00 PM in the School of Communication and Information (SC&I) room 212 the College Avenue campus in New Brunswick.

Anyone is welcome to come by the meeting and check out Debate. The Rutgers program has been perhaps the fastest rising in the country, ascending to two top-ten finishes in the last two years and poised to rise above its all-time high of fifth this coming season.
